Chelsea set to land Stones for £30m, Neymar puts block on Pedro's Man Utd move.

Chelsea set to land Stones for £30m
The Premier League champions will make their third offer for the Everton defender on Monday - and they believe it will be enough to bring the 21-year-old to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea will make a £30 million bid for John Stones on Monday as they close in on a deal for the Everton defender,
The Blues have had previous bids of £20m and £26m rejected by Everton but believe their next offer will be enough to land the highly rated centre-back.

Everton are anticipating the offer on Monday and there is now an acceptance that Stones will be sold should Chelsea bid £30m, despite the public stance that the England international will stay at Goodison Park.

Chelsea face rivals Manchester City on Sunday and hope to sign Stones in time for their trip to the Etihad Stadium.

Stones, 21, has made it clear to Everton that he would like to move to Stamford Bridge having been chased by the Premier League champions all summer.
Chelsea are understood to have prepared a five-year contract offer worth £100,000 a week for Stones, who has been identified by Jose Mourinho as the perfect replacement for 34-year-old captain John Terry.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been angered by Chelsea's public pursuit of Stones but praised the youngster despite his mistake for the second goal conceded in the 2-2 draw with Watford on Saturday.

Martinez said: “He loves Everton, he loves the club and the team and he is an incredible professional, so no I don't think you would ever expect him to sulk – he will always react professionally."

Stones joined Everton for £3m from Barnsley in 2013 and is expected to leave for a 10 times that sum after becoming a key member of Martinez’s squad over the last two seasons.

Neymar puts block on Pedro's Man Utd move. for now
The Brazilian's contraction of the mumps has led to Barcelona asking the 28-year-old to delay his £22.3 million exit to cover the Supercopa de Espana
Pedro's move from Barcelona to Manchester United looks set to be hit by a further delay after Neymar's untimely contraction of the mumps.

The Champions League winners had already put a temporary block on the forward's move until after Tuesday’s Uefa Super Cup clash with Sevilla in Tbilisi in a bid to ease Lionel Messi and Neymar into the action after their delayed summer holidays.

However, the Brazilian's bout of illness will keep him out for the next two weeks, prompting Barca to call for a further one-week hiatus before returning to the bargaining table.
But United, who have agreed to pay a fee rising to £22.3 million (€32m) for Pedro, are eager for the player to arrive sooner rather than later given that their Premier League campaign has already begun and they face a two-legged Champions League play-off with Club Brugge on August 18 and 26.

Pedro had shown an inclination to work at Barcelona’s pace after the club asked for the initial delay but an additional one-week block would rule him out of a further two United games, including the home leg of the Brugge tie.

Barcelona face Athletic Bilbao on
August 14 and 17 in the two-legged Supercopa de Espana, and Pedro would again be a likely starter in Neymar’s absence should the 28-year-old agree to delay his exit again.
